Marcus W. Chesnutt was admitted to the practice of law in 1978. He attended the University of North Carolina and the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. At that time he served as the Senior Law Clerk to the Chief U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Marc has been recognized by the Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers, “Best Lawyers in America”, “Top 100 Lawyers in Criminal Defense by the National Trial Lawyers”, as well as being selected as a “Top Lawyer by Business N.C.” and the “Global Directory of Who’s Who”. He also served as president of the 3rd Judicial District. With his main practice areas being CRIMINAL\ TRAFFIC and TRIAL work, Marc stays active in the legal communities surrounding District 3B. Marc lives in New Bern with his wife Sissy.
