About
Gary H. Clemmons, a native of Wilmington, North Carolina, was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1981. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Degree from Campbell University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. He was Senior Law Clerk to a federal judge in the Eastern District of North Carolina and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association where he has served on the litigation and mediation councils. He is also a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) (formerly Trial Lawyers) and a former member of its Board of Governors. His professional recognition’s include “Best Lawyers in America”, “Super Lawyers/North Carolina”, “Top Lawyers/Business North Carolina”, and Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers.
Gary has published articles, authored manuscripts, and been a requested speaker for NCAJ in the personal injury field. His practice areas include personal injury, civil litigation (plaintiff and defendant), condominium and property owners associations, federal criminal defense, and workers compensation.
He is married to the former Nan Blackerby of New Bern, North Carolina, has two children and five grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, walking, playing tennis and boating.
